Knitting Business Dos and Don’ts

Every business has a set of dos and don’ts and so does a knitting business! Although starting a knitting business may be easy, it may not be so easy to keep on regularly making money from your knitting business.

The first thing you should avoid is trying to knit things that you don’t like. Let’s admit it – although you may be good at knitting, there may be some items that you dislike creating. So the first step is to avoid knitting things you don’t really like.

Instead, jump start your creativity and think outside of the box. Knitted items are not only meant for things that you can wear. You could use knitted materials for other purposes as well. So try to explore the miscellaneous purposes of knitting and integrate your ideas into your knitting business. If your marketing tactics are good enough – you will soon find people getting into a regular trend of wanting and buying your knitted items.

You need to be honest in all your business dealings if you are to make money knitting. Therefore, using good quality knitting supplies is a must. You need to realize that you will have recurring customers who will keep your knitting business afloat. Therefore, you need to offer good customer service whenever selling knitted materials.

Try offering added services such as knitted product advice, custom made knitwear, or free knitting lessons etc. in your knitting business. Once you gain popularity as a knitting expert, you will find your knitting business taking off on an uphill trajectory!

  6. I agree that if you want to be an instant millionaire, this is the wrong business. One really has to LOVE knitting and what they make. It is what fuels them to stay working. Also, it is good to always promote yourself professionally. If you want to be cheap with your business, then you will not be taken seriously. Spend your time thinking about how professional you are, and then people will perceive the same thing.
